Comrade Dairy and Food Enterprises

Comrade Dairy and Food Enterprises was established in 2018 by Egerton University Comrades. The company is located in Njoro sub-county. The main objective of the business is to procure, process and sell high quality milk products. Our first market segment is the students at Egerton university and the areas surrounding Njoro. The enterprise is dully registered with the Kenya Dairy Board (KDB) and the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS). We produce yoghurt and sour milk branded as “Prestige Dairy” and with the tagline “The perfect healthy refreshers”.

Comrade Dairy envisions to be the preferred dairy brand in Kenya by providing high quality dairy products that satisfy the need of it’s consumers. This is to be achieved by consistently producing and delivering quality dairy products.

In our business model, farmers play a key role and they are our main raw material suppliers. We have trained the farmers on clean milk production practices and other husbandry practices. Comrades Dairy has employed youths to help in the transportation, processing, distribution and marketing of milk products.

The enterprise has benefited from trainings organized by AGLEAD of Egerton University. These trainings such as human resource management, financial management and digital marketing have been key in the smooth running of the enterprise. We have also attended other trainings outside university including, business modelling, business pitching, record keeping and accounting among others. Comrade wishes to thank Professor P.M. Mshenga for her continued support of the enterprise through the AGLEAD project.” We are also grateful to RUFORUM for selecting us among the 2021 FAPA beneficiaries.
