The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM), a network of 129 universities in 38 African countries, with funding from Carnegie Cooperation of New York is pleased to announce the following calls for proposals
- Graduate Teaching Assistantship (GTA) Research Grants: RU/2022/GTA/01
RUFORUM is pleased to pre-announce the availability of 40 Doctoral research grants under the GTA programme to support the research of the PhD candidates for two years. Please see the call for proposals for more detailed information. The research supported through these grants should have a participatory, action research approach, working closely with a range of stakeholders and thus contributing to the RUFORUM mission of linking universities more closely with rural communities and with research, extension, development and policy-making agencies. However, basic research may also be considered depending on the study area of the research area of the GTA Fellow.
2. Call for Post- Doctoral Fellowships: RU/2022/Post Doc/01
RUFORUM is pleased to pre-announce the availability of seven (7) Post- Doctoral Fellowships to former PhD beneficiaries under RUFORUM funded through the Carnegie Cooperation of New York. The Doctoral qualification should not be older than 3 years and women are specifically encouraged to apply. Please see the call for proposals for more detailed information. The post-doctoral fellowships build on, and help to scale up the RUFORUM commitment to strengthen postgraduate training and academic mobility in Africa.
3. Call for Post- Doctoral Fellowships: RM/2022/Post Doc/02
Applications are invited for three post-doctoral fellowships to be based at Makerere University Regional Center for Crop Improvement (MaRCCI). Please see the call for proposals for more detailed information. Applicants will be expected to have been awarded their PhD degrees not more than three years prior to launching their application. The fellowships should be designed to develop the applicant’s potential to compete, in future, for International research funding. Fellows will be required to take advantage of the research, resources, excellent mentorship and strong research networks through MaRCCI to achieve high quality publications, international collaborations and for securing research grants. Applicants for the Fellowships must show a commitment to pursuing a research career in their home countries after the training and engaging policy makers and the public in their research work. The fellowship will be jointly funded by MaRCCI and RUFORUM through funding from the Carnegie Cooperation on New York.
The submission of proposals for these opportunities will be opened on 1st January 2022, with submission deadline of 15th January 2022. These pre-call announcements are being issued to allow interested candidates to begin preparing their proposals ahead of the submission deadline. Proposals for this funding opportunity will be submitted through the RUFORUM Information Management System, RIMS.
