The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) periodically puts out calls for grants and scholarships and invites eligible members from our member universities including researchers and students, people in the academia and members of the public to apply, as a way of supporting research and development, and training a new generation of scientists for Africa.
RUFORUM is grateful to all applicants who responded to the respective calls for RUFORUM Entrepreneurship Challenge Programme (RECAP), RUFORUM Community Action Research Programme Plus (CARP+), Social and Environmental Trade-offs in African Agriculture (SENTINEL) and The Community-Based Field Attachment Program Award (CFAPA).
A total of 114 applications were received from 15 African countries and we take this opportunity to announce the outcome of the review process and final selection of the grantees and awardees, which was concluded during the RUFORUM 12th Technical Committee Meeting held at the RUFORUM Secretariat on 2nd and 3rd February 2018.
Thirty two (32) grants were awarded based on, but not limited to, quality of proposal, gender, thematic areas and geographical scope. The lists of successful applicants in the various categories are presented below.
